At BMC, the Omnichannel Sales Specialist is responsible for sustainable sales growth generated originating from inbound (non-walk-in) traffic, through partnership with BMC salespeople, and management of personal accounts.  The Omnichannel Sales Specialist mainly engages peer associates and end-user clients (Contractor or Homeowner) through online and phone communication to establish project qualification, budget, and timelines, in addition to engaging client accounts at the beginning and re-engagement phases of the account lifecycle.  The Omnichannel Sales Specialist will be based in Alexandria, VA, however must be capable of travel within the market to BMC locations and jobsites if necessary. Accountable to service level goals through reaction times to inbound traffic, and pricing/quoting/transacting inbound traffic orders to drive sales in the Omnichannel category.  Candidate must thrive in a team based environment to partner with peers and vendors on projects as a leader or in a support role, and act as training conduit for other associates on the team. This position requires fluent computer and phone operating skills. This position reports to a Manager and has no direct reports. 


Major Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and pursue potential business and sales leads, utilizing CRM lead generating tools, BMC core business drivers and leveraging field relationships to identify and follow up on prospects.
  2. Analyze and effectively qualify all new account prospects to ensure business viability standards are met.
  3. Actively partner with entire market sales team to assess and quantify qualified prospects and execute account warm hand-off to drive Omnichannel sales growth goals.
  4. Regularly communicates market intelligence and lead opportunities with Manager to develop prospecting and account strategies.
  5. Pursue and develop business partnerships and relationships within BMC; to include the Market Sales Manager, Market Sales team and support staff.
  6. Accurately communicate prospects through written, verbal and reporting tools to ensure complete transference of key information to multiple audiences.
  7. Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  8. Adhere to the Company’s safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
  1. Preferred Education: Associate’s degree in related field.
  2. Ability to travel within the market to BMC locations and jobsite locations.
  3. Ability to communicate with multiple audiences in a professional manner in person, on the phone, and through email.
  4. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  5. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  6. Ability to effectively present information to top management, fellow associates, and customers.
  7. Ability to write reports, memos, and correspondence. 
  8. Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  10. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  1. 2 years of related experience utilizing web based CRM and multi-line phone system in a high traffic environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. 2 years of related experience in knowledge of Lumber and Millwork industry, sales and production or equivalent combination of education and experience.
