General Contractor

How do components play a role in your work as a general contractor?

Large construction site of building with exposed insulationWhen you oversee projects of all sizes, you have to make decisions on how each structure is framed. Why not use the more efficient, high-quality, and labor-saving method?

Components help make sure a project is completed under budget and on time. Components offer an increased cycle time, allowing for more time to focus on other aspects of a job. Components also help coordinate a job among all of the subcontractors as many component manufacturers have relationships with other subcontractors. Componentized framing provides engineering and manufacturing ahead of time, providing more flexibly and quality assurance elements that creates fewer mistakes, resulting in fewer callbacks and delays. Components, by way of requiring less material, reduces costs and jobsite waste. Less need for a dumpster.

General contractors prefer components because...

  • Components shorten cycle time, decrease mistakes and put more money in a General Contractor’s pocket
  • Component Manufacturers are very easy to work with, and want to make sure the project goes well
  • They know they will be working with high quality, engineered building elements that are built in a controlled setting
