At BMC, the dedicated Logistics Manager assists in the optimization of facilities and fleet to improve shipping efficiencies and sales capacities and is in a crucial position to impact the company's growth and development. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Position will evaluate, propose and oversee implementation of logistical improvements to include the following:
    1. Location Layout.
    2. Fleet tracking and management systems.
    3. Improved or centralized dispatching.
    4. DOT regulations and compliance.
    5. Others as required by management.
  2. Position will work directly with key management team and individual management to ensure maximum use of fleet and facilities.
  3. Must be able to effectively assist in management planned growth.
  4. Work closely with management to ensure consistency with current SOPs and assist with implementation of operational SOPs.
  5. Work closely with management and safety management to support safety initiatives.
  6. Continue the development of the NOVA market concept.
  7. Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: 

Required Skills

  1. Minimum Education: Degree in Business, Construction Management, Logistics, Industrial Distribution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Must demonstrate an understanding of all aspects of distribution store logistics including load building, staging, fleet management, optimization of product storage, yard layout, integrated use of GPS programming and single and multiple unit dispatching operations.
  3. Must be relatively tech-savvy.
  4. Possess excellent communication skills and be able to track sales, costs and deliveries.
  5. Previous experience with these disciplines in the lumber and building materials industry is required.
Required Experience
  1.  Minimum Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in the building materials and/or distribution industry.
